The Carbon dioxide laser is an infrared laser which is able to precisely heat and vaporise tissue, to allow this tissue to be ablated. This laser is designed to be used as a precise surgical tool and allows the skin cells to be carefully removed where small lesions require removal from critical body sites. This laser is most often used in dermatology to remove verrucas or warts but also when other tiny lesions may need precise removal. It can be used to resurface skin to tighten collagen and soften lines and wrinkles.
