Vbeam Pulsed Dye Laser

Vbeam pulsed dye laser with the Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD™) cooling system delivers an intense but gentle burst of light into selectively targeted areas of the skin. The light is absorbed by specific blood vessels or melanin pigmented areas in the skin depending on the condition being treated. Factors such as the age, colour and type of lesions, as well as the location on the body, all determine whether lesions can be removed.

The Vbeam laser is able to selectively treat abnormal dilated blood vessels in the skin without harming surrounding skin structures. The laser produces very short pulses of a special type of yellow light which is only absorbed by red blood cells in the abnormal vessels and over the following few weeks the vessels shrink so that they are no longer visible. Because the laser light is not absorbed by the skin itself, the laser is able to lighten the various blood vessel marks without producing any scarring to the skin. It is gentle enough to allow safe treatment of these marks even in the skin of infants. The DCD™ quickly cools the skin surface just before the pulse of light enters the skin, to ensure that the skin surface is protected and to minimise any discomfort.
